Our week at the Oregon High Desert Classic was a successful one. We had riders from the Short Stirrup division all the way to the Mini Prix and for some riders it was there first time attending the beautiful Bend Oregon show. The grass footing was again incredible and weather was fantastic. Some highlights of our riders included: Kelsey and Natalie competing in their first 3'6 USEF Pessoa Hunter Seat Medal Class. Natalie was also Reserve Champion in the Junior Equitation 15 and under. Melani with her grit and perseverance ended with a double clear round in her Children's Jumper Classic finishing 4th (gotta love those victory gallops). Hannah Thornton with her WIN in her USEF Talent Search class against many top California riders and top ribbons in most of her equitation/medal classes. Alexa ending her weekend with a win in her Equitation over fences classes after a much challenging first couple days with Logan. Sophie winning her Eq on the flat riding Sweets. Payton winning the model and 4 out of the 5 classes in the Small Pony Division. Jenna worked her way to top ribbons in the Medium/Large pony division. Colby ended with a Championship in the Large Hunters. Ana competed on Skye in her second Mini Prix. Looking forward to more Mini Prix's at the August Shows.
Mark your calendars in 2011 for two weeks of Bend. It is a wonderful show with lots of recreational activities to do for the whole family. Many restaurants to choose from and of course the sunshine.
We all missed Amanda N and Amanda M who are usual attendees each year with us. Hoping they will be back with us next year.
So now home for two weeks and then off to Evergreen and then Thunderbird.
I want to acknowledge our riders who did their own grooming and braiding Kelsey and Sophie. Payton and Jenna who groomed themselves for Country Classic and Bend. Also, Alexa for braiding her own horse. I can appreciate the time and effort it takes to do these duties on your own. Good Job Girls!!!
